Author Guidelines
The author shall use the manuscript template provided by JTERA. Writing guidelines and templates can be downloaded HERE. Articles to be published in JTERA must meet the following conditions:
- The manuscript is written in Indonesian or English using Microsoft Word (.doc / .docx) in A4 format (210mm x 297mm) and the upper margin size is 20mm, under 25mm, left, and right 20mm.
- The article title is written in Times New Roman (TNR) size 24pt with one space. Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English with 10pt TNR letters of not more than 250 words. Also complete with keywords in the abstract section of no more than five keywords.
- The contents of the manuscript should be:
- Using the letters TNR size 11pt with 1 space and left-right flat.
- Using two columns with a distance between 7mm columns.
- Contains the title of the chapter including: Introduction, Research Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments (if any), and References.
- The introduction is written systematically consisting of three sections. The first contains a complete description of the problem that can be supported by quantitative data or other references. The second contains a description related to previous research. In this section, state the art of the topic studied by citing references. The third contains the objectives of the study accompanied by an explanation of the differences or development carried out. Also state gaps that occur in the problem or topic studied in this section.
- The research method contains stages of research, data analysis methods, design process, etc. In this section you should describe the stages in the form of flowcharts and block diagrams. Mathematical equations can also be described in this section.
- Results and discussion contain system implementation (if there is complete with photos / pictures), system testing, results analysis, discussion, etc. The results of the study must be consistent with the research objectives described previously. In this section it is also necessary to compare the results of research with previous researchers.
- The conclusions are made in one paragraph and answer what the research objectives are. At the end of the conclusion, write down suggestions for development or further research plans related to the topic being studied.
- Acknowledgments are given to those who contribute in terms of funding or facilities. Write a research funding scheme accompanied by a research contract number. If there is, write the name of the laboratory or institution that contributed to the research facility.
- References are written using the IEEE style. This type of reference takes precedence over scientific journals and seminar proceedings for a minimum of 10 references in the past 5 years. Other supporting references such as books, final project/thesis/dissertations, and official websites are allowed if necessary.
- Writing the title and sub-heading of the chapter (heading)
- Heading Level-1: Heading level-1 should be in Small Caps with 13 pt size, located in the middle and using numbered Roman numerals numbering. Heading level-1 which should not use numbering is "Acknowledgments" and "References".
- Heading Level-2: Heading level-2 should be italic and bold with 11 pt size, docked to the left and numbered using the uppercase letters.
- Heading Level-3: Heading level-3 should be spaced, italic, and numbered with numbers followed by right brackets. Heading level-3 should end with a colon. Heading level-3 is 11 pt. The contents of the 3-level section continue following the heading title with the same paragraph.
- Pictures and tables
- Pictures and tables must be centered. Large graphs and tables can be stretched on both columns.
- Pictures must have good resolution.
- Pictures and tables are numbered using numbers. Captions and tables must be in bold font size (bold) 10 pt. Captions and tables should be centered.
- Writing equations
- The equations are sequentially followed by numbering the numbers in parentheses with the right margin.
- Make sure that the symbols in the equation have been defined before the equation or follow directly after the equation appears.
- References and citation
All reference items are font size 10 pt. Numbering of reference items are typed sequentially in square brackets (example [1]). References or citations are using the IEEE format (numbering). Citing a reference can be written using numbering surrounded by square brackets, for example [1]. Citing more than one reference can be written with separate square brackets, for example [2], [4], [5], [7]-[9]. Some examples of reference items with different categories are shown in the References section which includes:
- book on [1]
- journal articles in [2]
- conference paper on [3]
- website at [4]
- final project, master's thesis, and doctoral thesis in [5]
